About This project is intended for understanding and reimagining autonomous vehicle user interface. The concept is to create a straightforward user interface with only necessary features to enhance experiences for all-generation users. The main goal is to adopt up-to-date design trend while embracing familiarity.
Research
To have an understanding about what goes into a car interface, I deconstructed two different models of electric, same-generation vehicles: Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan EV.
To understand what users need in an interface, a survey was conducted with the participant of 12 random people. The questions focused on their habits of driving, current issues with their car interface and what they want to see in future interface.
︎Most people prefer iOS and expect the interface to work and function seamlessly like their mobile phones.
︎Prefer some basic and important functions to be visible and reachable.
︎Most partipants haven’t driven an electric car before so they need some familarity in the UI.
